April 2004: Award from NSF entitled "Collaborative research: Restricted plasticity of canopy stomatal conductance: Conceptual basis for simplified models of canopy transpiration"
March 2004: Mike Loranty (Ph.D. student) was awarded a UB Presidential Fellowship and a NSF IGERT fellowship. Mike will join the group in May, 2004.
August 2003: We moved to the Department of Geography, SUNY at Buffalo.
May 15, 2003: Sudeep Samanta successfully completed his preliminary exams to become a Ph.D. candidate.
December 2002: Results on the effects of aggregated species composition derived from remote sensing on landscape scale water fluxes in northern Wisconsin appear in Global Change Biology. The paper is featured on the cover of the December 2002 issue:
November 2002: Award from EPA STAR for Nutrient Science study on bioavailable phosphorus measurement and modeling.
August 2002: Brent Ewers, Post-Doc 1999-2002, has joined the Faculty of the Department of Biology, University of Wyoming.
- Doug Ahl successfully defended his Ph.D dissertation entitled "A Measurement And Modeling Perspective On Requirements For Future Remote Sensing Vegetation Indices And Classifications."
- Eileen Chen completed the M.S. in Environmental Monitoring and is now doing an internship with the Alameda County Water District, California, splitting her time evenly between GIS analysis and work related to groundwater protection and management.
